Great shots! I agree the close ups show me what mine looks like before I get into it. Makes me want to do a complete restoration on the one I have too. Whats up with 125's they seem to be dominating the treads or is it just me? Looks like you will have new paint on all of it if you don't stop soon! Did you see the 125 on the front cover Cadet Connection! Wow is it sweet. Your front axle looks very nice. All that body work you do shows! Keep the pictures coming! LOL thanks. I almost forgot about the #1 tiller.
I need to change the gasket on the back cover. is there a way to save the trans fluid? it cost to much to change just because I need to do a gasket. thought about clean milk jugs , then after a week or so change the filter.

Unless you just put in a lot of new oil, here is my 2 cents. When I tore into the hydro on the 147 I drained the fluid with the intent on changing it anyway. So it went into the oil recycling. Here is what I found, 30 years of sludge in the bottom of the case. So I cleaned that out. Changed the filer and put in new hytran oil. You wont have to change it again for another 30 years? Looking good 4SPD.
You might take a look at the bracket that the axle runs in, they tend to splay out.

If you use a bolt through your front axle, you have to machine off about half of the head or it won't clear the sump on your oil pan.

pics of the bushing I put in. there is still a very very little bit of play in it. my guess is because the spindle is worn down to a little too. but its more the 75% better then it was.
