Thank you all. Im missing a few things for the engine, like the PTO clutch and the sediment bulb. Do hardware stores sell sediment bulbs? Where could I go to get one?

Default Sediment bulb

Probably can get one at your nearby lawnmower repair shop, or maybe even your neighborhood auto parts store. They may have to order it, but most like can.

Good score. Strange how they follow you home. I'm sure it will be happy with you.

Oh it is strange. You get on craigslist after class and you see a Cub Cadet super cheap...your "yellow and white" instincts kick in and say GO GET IT. he price was SUPER right and it was close.

Hopefully engine will get installed tomorrow. Picked up a 1450 near home so the projects are coming back into scope. More updates and a 1450 thread to come soon. Thanks for all the comments!

As others have already stated, it is only original once and appears to be in much better shape than most. I wonder what the hole in the tunnel cover on LHS is for....? Looks big enough for a light switch, perhaps....

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
