I was driving the 147 today and the whole rear end just blew right out of it. Happen so quick I cant even find the fenders.
The last picture shows the kind of rig job I did to make the lift work. Im going to cut that off and do something much better. Not sure what but it will look professional. Also I have a question on the second and third to last picture. The aluminum return line runs up over buy the fan and back down to help cool. The ported pump don't have that. Any ideas why that one don't? Did it not cool enough to matter? Looks interchangeable? If so should I swap that out? Or not worry about it? Any suggestions? Thanks

That trunin is shot! It should have a fan on it. They were stock from the factory. Sweet pics and I hope you didn't get your butt dirty when it blew apart on ya!

Not getting anything done on it today.
My question on the tube is should I swap it to the rear end Im using and run it still or not worry about it? It would be better probably for clearance reasons of the new lift system to not run it. Its really packed up there as it is. But if it helps enough then I will run it. Just looking for suggestions. Methos, It does have the fan on. Just hard to see it. But looking at it today. The rubber flex pad in the drive shaft pretty much blocks it. I know its factory but it seems like it would work a ton better without that flex pad in the way. Attached pictures to show the tube differences better and the fan with the flex pad in the way of air from fan.

I had about a hour and a half today so I ground down the old 3pt. Painted it so it wont rust. Then throw the rear end in. I did get the drive shaft in too. Started getting dark so I still need to hook up the brake and shifter rods. I think what I am going to try to do when I get to it is pull the dash tower out, steering column and shifter shaft and try to get that top part off the frame. I guess it would be the tunnel cover but its long. Then I can access the hydraulic ports and stuff easier to get it set up. Then when Im done bolt it down. I also thought of cutting the cover just to the column and making that easy access like the wide frame tunnel cover but not sure if I want to do that. I'm for modifying it but I don't want it to look rigged up like it was in the past. If its a modification that will improve it then lets do it!
![]() In the pictures you can see what I ground off laying on the ground. I also include a picture of it before I ground them down. I already posted that but you dont have to scroll around it find it again. It is on the bottom of the pictures though. I did leave the spring assist bolt holder thing welded to the frame. If I go hydraulic I wont need it and will probably remove it and let my brother use the spring assist on his 123 or 105. Sure looks mean without the rear fenders!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
