the Briggs is a late 80 to mid 90s Twin II 18hp . I cant find another like it anywhere. its a Cally emissions briggs engine. (designed to run on low octane gas) but with some seafoam and good gas it runs very strong. I think its for a pump or generator system of some kind. it had the button starter/kill switch mounted on the engine.
after using my 682 with a M18 in it , I feel this Twin II 18 is stronger, maybe stronger then the vanguard

thanks , I still have a few things to do to it front tires, seat, foot grips.
foot grips are at the powder coaters, seat on it is from the 682 (wanted to see how it looked) I'll get the one correct for it. and going to save for the 5 rib tires on the front.
and prob going to put the 10.5's back on the rear.

Doug,
I agree with the sticker location. I need to get some and distribute them freely amongst the implements. That deck looks great.
Regards,
Chris

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
