Looks like your 1450 has the same rotating headlight issue that mine has on the left side! At least your IH emblem is still there. The guy I bought mine from had no idea what happened to the IH emblem or the lower grill. Those are minor catastrophes though considering the engine mount replacement job ahead of me AND the worn-out starter I have to deal with.

Yeah its kinda cock-eyed but will address that once the bigger issues are solved. Going to yank the engine and replace the iso mounts, they seem ok but cant hurt to do it anyway since the motor needs to be rebuilt (one circle around the yard and there was enough smoke to enshroud the house and half the woods!) if not have it repowered. Plus the engine tins are mangled and the starter feels like its on its last leg, and the dash is a completely different story.

Ive found some great replacement IH emblems at www.steinertractor.com.

Funny, my 1650 project has that cockeyed headlight going on as well. Haven't even looked at it yet, as I'm currently on bigger things.

Here's a few pics of my 1650 as purchased. It's my first resto project:

There's that cockeyed headlight

I have a restore thread going on here all feedback and help welcome!

BTW, I got thru this whole thread in about 4 or 5 late-night viewing sessions...whew...lots of nice tractors. I'm getting concerned that I'm feeling "the bug."

Yeah, I noticed it's opposite of what mine has. I'm feelin' the "bug" too. When my 1450 goes into my friend's shop for the rebuild, I'll be borrowing his 147 to work my grass situation. He's interested in my opinion of it over the 1450!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
