Default John 1, Rust 0

Well, the red wrench (and 3 days of PBblaster) was successful enough in moving the pulley about a half inch forward... I was then able to tap it back to align with the gen pulley. To get that fully off, I'll need to take some emery cloth and polish the rust on the crank... it's a very tight fit .

I did pick up a "vintage" made in the USA Craftsman sweeper and noticed that the Cat0 pin I had mounted was too large in diameter to fit the lawn cart or the sweeper. While I'm about as much of a machinist as I am a rocket scientist, I am able to make big things smaller on the lathe I think it came out looking ok and it works fine. I can put a large flatwasher to ride on the collar to keep the hitch from getting gouged up.

The O did it's first work today, pulling the sweeper around the yard picking up yesterdays cuttings and leaves. If inanimate objects could smile, it think it was, being back at work for the first time in a decade.

The clutch is grabby (I think it's probably covered in rust) the steering needs to be fixed, the thing looks like hell , there's something wrong with the governor/throttle, the clutch pedal sticks in the down position sometimes and the harness needs replacing... but it's working again!

Default Todays work

Took out one driveline and installed another ... works much better than this rusty version, which I will probably clean, repair and reinstall. This turns out to be a relatively easy repair. The pedal STILL won't reliably return ... I'll have to take the pedal off and see if I can smooth out the shaft and bushing ,as it does the same with the brake rod disconnected.
