You have done a great job with that tractor. I sometimes think about doing mine that way, base coat clear coat, but it takes a lot of abuse, I don't know, maybe some day.
As of right now, I'd be happy just to have it running again. |

got all the body work done and the parts in a reduced coat of epoxy to fill the 220 sand marks. I'll 600 wet sand them next then seal and paint tomorrow sometime.
the bottom side of the fenders got a coat of bedliner. there was so much surface rust here I wanted to protect better then the paint/clear will. it'll still get painted. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Doug,
Great idea on the bed liner coating on the insides of the fender. I assume you sprayed that on too! Man you are talented when it comes to prep and paint work! This 582 is one "spoiled tractor"! Regards, Chris

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
