Allen,
Yes, a big step closer. I'm turning in. Felt kind of like Christmas morning when I saw that package had arrived. Hope things are good in Cub land! Temps went from teens on Sunday night to rain and 50 today and its snowing now! Well that's Erie County weather! Regards, Chris

I'm glad you're happy with the parts Chris. just sucks the box got a hole in it. None of the paint is original. I did a crappy spray bomb job on them. I was lazy and didn't spend the time to properly remove the rust inhibitor. the paint was Van Sickle IH Off White. Looks like you have every thing you need to get the chain drive back together. If you need a gearbox and mount, let me know. I have a extra one of those too.
AJ

AJ,
Yes I PMed you on those items! I have all the bearing retainers in primer. I shortened the stainless pop rivets for the name plate and attached that tonight. Have a great weekend everyone! Also working on decals for these units! I will let you know what I find out. Regards, Chris

Folks,
I pulled the first body support brace from the frozen rust removal tank. Wire brushed and primed it. These braces are from AJ Gross, and are a lot nicer than the ones I had! Reminder this is rattle can primer and top coats. Have first coat of color on most of the bearing retainer rings and dust covers. Cut out the rest of the gaskets for the case. You can see the tiller tag riveted in place with stainless pop rivets. Looks like I may be on track for starting the tiller assembly next week. Have to get this done as I need the room to move cubs into the garage for maple season soon. That's about as exciting as it gets over here. ![]() About 6 inches of new snow since 3:00. Regards, Chris

There is a lot of handling on all these small parts. Getting tired of cleaning and painting. Syrup season will allow me to set aside the cubs till mid April. Will start hanging tubing in the next few weeks.
Regards, Chris

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
