Stopped at a local scrap yard today looking for a small yard cart trailer to fix up & stumbled across a 149 Hydro like mine , It's pretty beat up but had a headlight kit wich I pick up for $5 .Idid'nt have many tools with me so Going back tomarow to get a few more parts . Question I noticed It had what looked like a Hydralic valve body & cylinder inside / behind the engine compartment , What is this for should I get them , Thanks

That is what raises and lowers your deck, plow, and other things. I would grab both and the hoses. Would be worth getting the lever that goes with it too.

I mean theres still alot there Engine , Trans rear wheels & tires , no front wheels , no deck , no carb, front grill , hood is badly smashed , steering wheel is bent . I'm thinking about buying it all but to be honest I dont need any more projects.?? I may just strip the parts I need & call a friend who has several IH Cub Cadets & send him to buy the rest , I know he will add pics of headlights just pulled the whole nose section

Buy it for scrap price and strip it. Bring back the rest you don't need and put the cash back in your pocket. You'll come out on that deal.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
