Default Engine swap question

I have a cub 3204 with a CH20 blown engine and I found a parts gt2550 with a CH670 engine. I'm fairly sure it's a direct easy swap. Maybe exhaust needs changed, but everything else bolts up, plugs in. Am I correct? It will be the first full engine swap I do on anything this big, so don't really want to mod anything crazy. They both go to the same service manual. I just want to confirm I'm not missing something out of inexperience

I'm pretty sure that would be an easy swap. The 3k's are different than the 2k's so you will need to reuse the muffler, manifold's, pto system and a few other things I'm forgetting. You will need to see where they pickup the vacuum for the 3k pto. It probably has a fitting on the intake manifold for the 3k machine but I'm not sure the 2k will have it.

Here are some free manuals if you don't already have them.

Good luck and if you have any questions we are here to help.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
