Well.... yeah. But it's a screw on cap is it not? Threaded cap. Not a 1/4 turn cap correct? So, you screw it on until it stops, then make it tight. Just like putting a lid on a bottle of soda pop. Even in the crankcase pressured up too much, it would blow the seals out before it blew that cap off.... unless you didn't put it on tight and it unscrewed then vibrated loose until it popped off. That or you didn't reinstall it at all, and took off not knowing it, only later to discover it missing. Believe me, if you had a crankcase pressure issue, it would be doing a lot more bad stuff besides randomly losing the oil fill cap 1 time a year. Like I said..... I bet you either didn't reinstall it after topping off the oil, or it came loose. Happened to me before, so don't think I'm making fun. It happens.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
