i tried searching this site but had no luck finding the cub cadet part numbers for the yellow and white paint in the quart for the cub original. i found that the yellow part # is 483, and the white is 901, but the cub dealer could do nothing with those numbers. are those the wrong #'s, are they even the right color for the original? thanks

You can't get 901 from a CC dealer. He can't do anything with the numbers because they are IH numbers and not CC numbers. My advice would be to go to a paint store and get some mixed in one of the brands on the above chart. |

I just finished painting my 106... I used the Dupont Centari paint in the attached photos. I've also included the "white" I'll be using when I restore my OCC...

I was able to buy the correct colors in IH paint at my CC dealer. It was 1/2 the price of the cub cadet paint also, $19 a quart.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
