1X4/5 and 1X6/7 series (except the 147) frames were all drilled for the hydraulic lift.
Originals, 70/100's and the 1X2/3 series all had to be drilled. Someone once told me that the later 1X2/3 series were drilled, don't think I've never seen one and don't think any of mine are. I would put a manual lift on it and keep an eye out for an electric lift, or a hydraulic lift, then fab up a nice bracket for it to fit your 147.

Nice find! So, having set for a spell, the basic engine / transmission stuff should be looked at. I usually pull the head on my tractors, de-carbon the two surfaces, and flatten the head, among many other things!
Good luck, I bet you get the 147 up and running soon! ![]()

Thanks everyone! I think I'll do what was suggested and put a manual lift on until I come across an e-lift for a good price. I can always "borrow" the lift from my 106 since it has the shredder mounted to it. Don't really need it for that tractor right now.
As far as the hydro lift, has anyone put one on a 147? It seems like the frame flares would be in the way for the pulley and such for the hydro? |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
