Default Hydro pump valve ?? on 1650

Hello all,

I am putting my 1650 back together. Im working on getting everything put back on in the dash tower. My 1650 originally was only a single valve hydraulic. I bought everything to make it dual hydraulics. I have everything hooked up and it went smooth. But I am a little worried, when I pull the hydro levers back it moves the cylinders out. But if I push the handles forward it doesn't push the cylinders back into the valve. The chain links just mush and don't push the cylinders back into the valve. DO I need to have have the chain linkage aligned properly for them to work?

Sounds like the valve body is too low on the steering column. Loosen the u-bolts and slide it up. Post a pic so we can verify.

Mine did the same till I had an attachment to get some weight, I think they are single acting cylinders.

No, they are not. Two hoses running to them.

More than likely the cylinder was returning, but the rockshaft wasn't. Unless you have the locking pin in, the rockshaft is not directly connected to the cylinder.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
