I just got this cub cadet 145 a few days ago. It is a cub cadet 125 with a 14hp Kohler on it with great compression--so I guess that is a cub cadet 145. Oddly enough, there is just a slight bend to the NF to adapt the 14 hp engine to it. I don't have it running yet, but I paid just under scrap price for it. The deck is seized up, but I have extra of those if I can breathe life back into the ole' girl.

Yours is upgraded HP. My 149, is down graded to 12 HP. For what I do, it is not a handicap. The tractor is the main thing. Engines come and go, but the tractor is as long lived, as we are willing to maintain them. Good score!

Thanks fellas!
It rained today, so I didn't work on it, but I did get a 782 roller for the frame since the previous one was messed up by the PO, but that will be another thread. I will keep you updated on my progress. Oh, I did pull the rear rim/tires off. They are Cub Cadet tires that are like new, but weather cracked, so I tubed them today and they look great. More to come...Cub Cadet 123

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
