thanks for your suggestion. the donor is a bare frame w/ a rear end. I'm going to look into pulling the rear ends and swapping them whole.

I agree on the replacement of the gasket between pump and tranny. Eric and I just last night pulled the one from a 2072 rear and man was it toast. It was leaking a little but from the looks of that poor gasket fluid should have been pouring out. That gasket looks a bit more like a spider web than a gasket.
