I think Cubcrazy hit the nail on the head!

LT's run hard and LTs run long... but they don't run hard, long.

With the prices of things today, I really hate seeing someone prematurely wear out a perfectly good machine.

From my dealer days, I quickly found to easiest way to do some damage to your LT machine is to mount a snowthrower on it, or pull a 2000lb roller. A blade wasn't too bad. And getting warranty to pay on normal use when this happened was a "pleasant experience." So my opinion was in part supported by MTD tech support as well as warranty.

But what I did personally, and after it worked well for me, then I started suggesting to others is this: (1) let your lawn tractor be your mower and invest in a walk-behind 2-stage snow thrower. Why? Easier to move around, store, easy to maintain, as well as easier to resell if you no longer have a need for it. Or (2) which has already been mentioned; find an older machine to be your "grunt/workhorse" to mount a snowblower, blade, etc on to.

This is certainly just my opinion and not trying to tell you what to do. But we all need to keep in mind, the current machines are nothing like what they used to be. And just because accessories are advertised as going on them, doesn't mean it is wise to put them on. Good luck to you and keep us informed of what you decide. Once again, just an opinion of someone who's driveway is 150 ft long and 35 ft wide.
I totally agree with what everybody has said about an LT being a light duty, chincy machine when compared to older models. Of any brand really. I would like to buy an older heavy duty machine and just sell this one. But thats not in the cards before winter hits this year. I wont be buying a walk behind. My driveway is 700+ feet long and about 50 feet wide by the garage and tapers to 30 ft wide the rest of the way to the road. Honestly I would like to get a plow truck rather than any snowblower, but its a lot of money for something that would take longer to warm up than it would to plow my driveway. I dont have the time to plow for others at any hour of the day to make some money with it, so thats out...

Now my next question is I found a 190-032 snowblower for sale for $200. It was mounted on an MTD. I dont know exactly which model. What Im wondering is, is that same as a cub 190-032 and would it mount up to an LT1050? Remember, mine is from either 05 or 06... Cant remember off the top of my head. That is the part number in my owners manual for a snowblower attachment, so I would assume it will work... Now trust me, I know very well this is about as light duty cheap machine as it gets, but $200 wont get me much else other than some shovels.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
