![]() ya after searching many many threads! i came across the tech section. is there a specific type clutch i have to use, im thinking i may be missing more parts then originally thought! i really wanna figure out how to up the auger speed a little too, i plan on using all new higher end bearings. i started tearing it apart today, and already found a few pieces that need to be re welded on, and a whole lot of sand blasting needs to be done, lol

Awesome find and I agree, you did really good on the tradeout. I'm in the middle of a 147 restoration myself, so I'll try to check in on this thread to see if I can screw your tractor up too!

As for speeding up your auger, I would leave things alone, or you maybe opening up a can of worms.
The design of these tractors and the way they worked with the attachments is hard to inprove. Everything works well together ![]() By the way, welcome to OCC, and nice 147, I have one and really enjoy it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
