I am looking into buying a cub cadet 149 and wanted to hear how much it is worth. It is rough cosmetically, but as working hyrdo lift and drive. Has dual rear wheels, chains, an 2 snow plows. But needs a voltage reg, battery, and some tubes. Shoot me some numbers! Thanks a lot.

Condition and location detrmine price. Sounds like the condition is poor and without a VR do you know how it runs? I would throw out $150 due to non running shape and other thins you'll have to fix.

I paid $275 for a 149 in Northern NJ back in December. It came with a nice deck, and a home made front blade. It was not running but is running fine now with a battery, and new hydro fluid and filter. I would pay a few more bucks for that one with the extra wheels and blade.

I would pay $250-300 purely because of the duals and blade, which is easily $100

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
