The hydro lever on my 149 is really sloppy due to the hole being made bigger over ars of use. I bought the below pictured upgrade that was used on the quietline series. The other picture is of my 169 hydro linkage. I have attempted to install the new piece without success as it is too long. Before I straighten this piece out, cut it, and re-drill the hole, is there something I am missing. The linkage on the 169 is not in the parts look-up and the local Cub dealer could not find it either. Unlike most Cub dealers I have read about on the different forums, they are very knowledgable and helpful on the older models.

Before you cut something up and invest your time, I would recommend that you check with our sponsors whose links are at the top of our forum page and try replacing your original part with another one that doesn't need any modification. You could take that part back and defer the cost of the original part or maybe have some change left over!! It might save you from trying to re-engineer something to make it work, which could possibly lead you to disappointment down the road. Well, thats my

From the diagrams it looks like the valve control assembly on the 149 and quietline are located in different positions hence the need for the longer arm. Also the 149/169 arms seem to be NLA. ughh. I am guessing you will have to do what you were talking about or possibly look at how the quietling valve is mounted and go that route to make it work right. I am not able to find anything else about that either.

LOL, that was fast. Why don't you just sell me that 149 before it gives you a headache? :biggrin2.gif:

I have plenty of aspirin to assist me with the repairs. The WF's with hydraulic are my favorite ones. After using he QA 42A on this last snow I am definitely hooked.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
