Best way to clean alum?
Wondering if any of you had a secret weapon for cleaning and polishing aluminum? Putting engine in my old truck today and would like to clean up the intake and carb some. Not going to go nuts on it today but when I build my other engine I would like it to shine under the hood.

Aluminum brightener, its a chemical used to clean alum tanks on big trucks.

In all honesty if its just a cast aluminum that you want to look bright again. Use some degreaser and a little elbow grease. Vht makes a paint that looks exactly like natural cast aluminum just picked some up for my 406 to clean up the old single plain. Looks brand new and if hadn't painted it myself I wouldnt know it was paint... if your wanting it to shine nothing beats sand paper followed by some buffing compound

1:1 Muriatic acid sprayed on with a garden sprayer onto the aluminum, rinse off well after 3 minutes. Works sweet.
