Default 3184 Value, pics inside

Came across a 2002 3184 with 144 hours on it, and it looks like it has 144 hours on it, practically brand new. Runs good, serviced yearly (receipts supposedly come with it), 44" deck. guy moved to a place that cuts the grass, but has just held onto this thinking he was going back to something bigger but has changed his mind. ill try and get some pics up. The guy is the original owner as well...

Jon, I have a few 3000 series machines and they are good tractors. I think the 3184 was built in 2000-2001. I'm not familiar with that 44" deck that has the rear wheels. Mine have the 48" & 54" decks with the striping rollers in the back. That one has a good Kohler CH18 engine, non-locking aluminum rear if built before November of 2000 or cast iron non-locking if built after and all the other 3000 series goodies. I see them go from $700 for a beat up one to $2000 in great condition with more options. There was one up in Charlotte a few days ago for $1200 but I can't find it now and I don't remember the deck size. They are a true garden tractor that can take a cat 0 hitch and they have a sweet hydro tiller available, if you can find one.

This would strictly be a grass cutter for my pops, hoping to snag it for about $500-600

I've never had any of that particular model but for a reasonable price it would be difficult to walk away from considering the low hours and apparent condition.
If it helps, I just sold a 2186 wit 350 hours on it and 48" deck for $700.

I'll start a new thread in the next day or two with some pics once I get her tuned and washed up. I'm kinda digging the foot controls for cutting grass!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
