Hi, I would like to know what the vacant spot on my 782 is on the dash, it's to the left of the hydro control lever. The hydraulic lever is to left of steering wheel, is the vacant spot for front hydraulics? Thanks!

It's for the hydrostat control lever "speed stop". A little plastic "bumper" that you can set so that when doing a job, like mowing, you always move the lever to the same spot. Nice for when training your son/daughter/wife/etc.

Ok thanks, really like the 782 and mine does not have that option, interested in another that has this option on the control. I use mine solely for tilling and it exceeds my expectations. The guy I got the tiller from was a retired IH dealer and said you could put front hydraulics on it, wasn't sure if that was what it was for, I see the knock out plugs on the front. I got a front weight bracket but it doesn't fit the mule drive, guess it's for the CCC 1800s

No, no....
Yours has that option. It just doesn't have the part. They all came with it, PO must have lost it. Yes, you can put front hydraulic remotes on it. You can scour e-bay for a valve. They come up from time to time. Oh, you'll need the control handles too and the lines. The front weight bracket will fit. It doesn't go on over the mule drive. You have to take the mule drive off to put the weight bracket on. Kinda like you can't have a blade and the mower deck on at the same time. |

J-mech, thanks. I'll have to take a picture of what I've got. I would love to fit the bracket on my 782 while tilling. Not so much needed while tilling just for a cool factor but definitely needed when plowing. I haven't seen of it will attach to the 124 but doubt it. I did not see where it would attach to the 782 without the mule drive attached without modification. I am still very new to these machines but love them. Learned a lot over the past year or so since owning them

Weight brackets are over-rated. You don't need it when plowing. Really more for looks. Now, if you have a Cat 0 3pt..... then you need one. You don't want any more weight on the front axle than you have to. Now, when the front end comes off the ground is when you need to add weight. I don't know if your bracket is correct or not. Just know that the correct one attaches where the mule drive does. Now, you do need rear weight when plowing.
Here is that control lever stop. It's no big deal. IMG_20140903_210353.jpg |

Yes that is the lever I was referring to. I know when I plowed the front end lifted up and that was with chains and 100 lbs of weight plus me (160)

I don't see how it fits on with out the mule drive or without I think it's the wrong bracket for this model

Also when I was plowing I was breaking up new lawn, not previously plowed/tilled. It was a chore but fun. Got a disc too but not sure why after getting the tiller. Converted some die hard John Deere yokels over to the IH cubs while doing so too

If you had the front end come off the ground plowing...... well.. you shouldn't have. I plow with a 125 and never brought it off the ground. I know it weighs less than the front of your 782 does.
That weight bracket is for a 2000/2500 series tractor. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
