Need Help Fast - ZTR
I just got a call from my son-in-law from Kansas and he asked me about a new cub cadet 22 hp RZT. I have no knowledge or experience with the zero turns and am looking for any help I can get as to durability of these machines. He currently has one of the cheap MTDs that he is constantly working on to keep running but the deck just gave out again. He mows about an acre of flat land with only a short drop off out near the road. Any help and assistance will be greatly appreciated.

With my son, EricR Super 2084 with 54" mower, 451 blower. 2086 with 3 pt hitch, 54 inch deck, 551 blower, 54 in brinly blade. A 4 digit original w deck. A 70 with deck. 2 102s both with 42 in decks, one with creeper, 1 36 inch IH snow thrower CW36, 1 42 inch IH blade. 149 with mower. 2072 w 3 pt hitch, Johnny bucket, 60 in mower, 451 blower. Jacobson GT 10 with mower. DR Lawn vac tow behind,Home made lawn roller. Brinly cart, 2 off brand carts and 1 home made cart.

I have not heard rave reviews about the Cub ZTR's. Just my 2 cents. Give Vince O a shout, he was fixing them at the last place he worked at.

Rule of thumb, if it has a Kohler Courage engine or is sold at the big box stores it is absolute junk! I'm not impressed with any new ZTR or product that has the Cub name.

For whatever it’s worth my machine shop also sells SCAG mowers. The owner showed me a cut way of the deck spindle. Best design I have ever seen. Thing looks like it is bullet proof. Down side they are not cheap.

Lets be realistic with the guy;
a] 1 acre b] level lot c] replacing a Murray Who here thinks the ZTR will not work - and not break the bank!! This ain't the Detroit Mower Gang, trying to mow 150 parks every weekend!!
