It sounds real good Brian. It always sounded like it was suffocating before. Now it really rips wide open when I hit the throttle. I actually used an old muffler off my parts machine for the test unit, it already had a few cracks in it so nothing lost, just having fun.

I put a new primeline muffler on the 129, now its too quiet. This 104 I just got has worn out but not rustd out muffler, and sounds right.
Runs in the family, I remember Grampa saying he liked to to "hear them run free" when asked about the glasspacks on his 74 Torino. |

Decided to switch over to solid motor mounts. Ordered a set of these;
https://www.zkbrmachine.com/item.php?product_id=142 Along with one of Zach's solid six pin drivers (this awesome driver actually now comes with a sealed roller bearing to carry the front end of the drive shaft); https://www.zkbrmachine.com/item.php?product_id=80 and a new drive shaft from him too (yeah I know, this is the third time into the clutch. I keep telling myself I'm having fun!); https://www.zkbrmachine.com/item.php?product_id=101 and some two piece clamp on shaft collars (part # 6436K15) from McMaster-Carr; http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/122/1216/=10t9c0z I know, I know that's not the 1200. I'm actually doing much of his work to two Quietlines simultaneously. We'll just call this a 'file photo' (the 1450 actually got new CUB CADET Quiet Line ISO Motor/Engine Mounts (Part # IH 61509-C2 Use 759-3952)). * It is well worth noting that the solid motor mounts, drive shaft and many other high quality parts are available from our member Jeff in Pa. Jeff does high quality work, is a fair and reasonable man, and a pleasure to work with. I opted to order my parts from Zach as I needed other items from him and I just needed to save on shipping. |

While I was at it I figured I’d do the frame rail mod;
http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...03&postcount=1 On the 1450 it turned out that one of the four bolts that held the cast aluminum oil pan to the frame rail was missing and the female threads in the oil pan seemed a bit sloppy, so I drilled out and retapped all four and added these Helicoils from McMaster-Carr; http://www.mcmaster.com/#91732a746/=ygdkbh As the 1200 was getting the solid motor mounts, it got a deep sump cast iron oil pan that I picked up from one of our members. ![]() Picked up 4 new grade 8 bolts, 3/8" - 16 x 1", and lock washers from my local hardware store to attach the ISO rails to the oil pan. And a couple of new Oil pan gasket (part # 235353-S) |

Edit: I'm gonna rebuild the front PTO;
http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...572#post369572 While I had the engine out to do this work I had removed the front PTO to hang the engine on a stand so today I re installed the front PTO and adjusted the air gap on the electric clutch. Information on this is found on page 16 of the Quietline Operators Manual; http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...68&postcount=1 After putting everything back together and verifying proper operation of all systems I loaded up and will be ready to head back to work tommarow! http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...&postcount=184 |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
