[QUOTE=zippy1;391411]Okay, you don't have to holler at me...
So where you have it running now through the middle of the tower it reaches? Right now in the last picture you posted, it's connected on both ends?
Try running the cable along the frame instead of it running down so low...
Here is a rough idea of what I am talking about in black. That extra hanging low "looks" like it would be enough, but I ain't there, so...

Ha ha, you know I would never holler at the O master. Where you have the lines showing the route, right at the bottom of the tower, is there a way to keep it in the frame? I am going to try again when I get all the little things tightened up. I did notice the cable was coming up at the back pulley, and that isn't right. I'm going to put her in the air where I can get under it and try again. It goes where the red line is?

It looks like Todd has a clip on an engine bolt (it's below the air cleaner) to hold the throttle cable. It will also keep the cable from rubbing off the paint as you use the tractor. Should be able to get one at the hardware store.

Good eye Bill, I didn't notice that clip. Just came in from the garage, putting the deck back under it. I will figure that dang cable out today one way or another. I wish I could just go pick up Todd, he's already been there, and I don't know squat about these things, but I am learning. s l o w l y.

Where is Todds picture? It's nowhere I can find? I thought I had it saved. And one more question, the hitch pin looks like and is pointing towards the front of the tractor. Will it point the other way if I turn it around? This is an old picture but it shows it close up.

There is supposed to be a clip bolted to the rear engine mount bolt that holds the throttle cable. Here is a pic from my O. I may have a couple laying around. If I do I'll send one with the deck wheels.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
