The wiring has me in a head lock this week. Hope to bust through that by the weekend.
I was only going to leave the top tins off while the engine was running for the first half hour or so then re-torque the head bolts and then place the tins in correct location.

Thanks for the info on not soaking the head gasket! That info was in the old Cub book I have. Just didn't seem right so it went on dry. Also info on the wiring sizes too.

(Man I hope this thing runs.)

Read up on the exhaust stack information in one of the threads. Good suggestions about getting it supported properly. Hummm? will need to think on that more!
Have to order wire and get going on something, weather is too nice to be slacking.
Still a long list of things to do! All of which seem to cost money.

Nope, just park them inside the shed, should be covered on contents of your outbuildings policy of your homeowners. I guess if your using it and it catches fire, drive it in the shed and burn the shed down with it, then it should be covered as well...LOL....or if you can't make it to the shed, jump in the truck and run it over (by accident...remember you are pannicking), then your auto insurance ought to take care of it!

Thanks I will keep the running over thing in the back of my mind
I stopped at every auto part place between Erie and home and managed to get every color wire I needed for the wiring harness except gray. So some white wire was painted gray primer tonight. I did get the majority of the wiring reconstructed tonight. Should finish it early next week.
I am glad I started over with fresh new wire, some of the original stuff had been hacked or was cracked bad.
Used #8 and #10 for the primary wire and #14 for the rest.
Need to get some more end connectors and heat shrink. I like that stuff.
Will be doing carpentry work with a friend near Centerville tomorrow and then to my sons to work on his old house restoration.
Maybe do the covered bridge tour in NE OHIO on Sunday with the wife?
Hope things are good out there.
I am going to try to order that nice seat with the arm rests that Todd mentioned.

Well I am about 80% complete on the new wire harness for the 147.
Does any one know if I have made the right assumption here? I was going to use Purple wire color for the lights?
As I get closer to completing it I realize how bad the original was and the need for new wires on this 147R.
Also learned a lot since this is the first full harness that I have done. (I think I have enough wire to do a couple more tractors if required too
Need to pick up some more wire for the Elec lift. as I was going to go with #12 on that. Most of the other wire are #14 other than the primary wires.
I have some of the newer plastic loom that I will use to cover the harness rather than the conventional mesh. I have used heat shrink on all the end fittings and color coded the wires as in the original schematic. May be able to finish it tonight (late) and get it installed this week. Should be ready to set the engine back in then.
Grass is calling now, so the 127 will be pressed into service tonight to mow the 3 acres.
