With risk of turning this thread into a deck comparison thread that gets moved to the attachment forum, Here is my take on the Haban decks. I've got a real early one under my 982 with no front gauge wheels. My 2072 has front gauge wheels. Other than the location of the serial tag, I don't think there is a difference otherwise. Both mow great, however, I had to spend quite a bit of time leveling the decks. Actually had to shim the spindles to get them as level as I wanted. They mow beautiful yards. The only drawback I see is traction on the machine with the front gauge wheels. On that machine, I let the deck ride on all 4 wheels--I think that is the way most guys have them set up--too much weight to ride on the chassis and mule drive--causes some wear issues which have been addressed in other threads. Without the weight of the deck on the tractor, having to steer the front gauge wheels, and that machine has an alum rear, I can get "stuck" real easy, or spin the tires and tear up the yard. I would try the Haban under the bigger machine before I bothered switching decks.
