I think the sponsors above can help you. I also know that Steiner Tractor Parts carries them, They specialize in full-sized tractors, but their IH section has some repo and genuine IH Cub Cadet parts. www.steinertractor.com

You can use small zipties to hold the grille in.

Default 1450 grill

The pictures solved my problem. Have a new grill and the springs but there is nothing in any of the shop manuals showing them installed. Now, if I can just figure out what a stator does (think it does the same thing as a alt/gen, but not sure (and don't think you need both).

Welcome to OCC!!

I'm glad the pics helped you.
The springs install from the back side, it's really pretty simple to figure out.

As far as a stator, it's the same thing as an alternator. It's different from a starter generator like the older machines have. No you do not need a generator and a stator.

If you have a question about your machine, or the charging system, please start a new thread in the proper section. That way you can get the help you need. Make sure you tell us what model of tractor you are working on. We will know what motor it has by the model number, and year is irrelevant.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
