That drive shaft idea is something that I think should catch on. My 129 has the rubber drive disc on both ends of the shaft. Some way in the conversion to the disc, the shaft didn't get centered and it wobbles a little. I don't like it. Thanks for the idea.

On the PTO clutch, sometime in the history of the tractor the little brass button was replaced with a small full cage ball thrust bearing. I think whoever did that was a brilliant cat. Once in a while I pull it out and add just a touch of grease. I've never rebuilt the clutch, so I don't know any specifics on what they may have done to make it work, but it works great.

I'd like to see the thrust bearing on the PTO if you can post some pics.

X2! Chris (non-member friend) and I have been looking at that as viable option too. I haven't taken the time to do any more than just think about it. Would like to see what bearing they used.

I solved my 149 drive shaft situation a little differently..just throwing it out there for those with fewer skills than Sam...like me.
