Ever seen fenders like this ?

I got this Cub Cadet 70 to rebuild. I thought the 70's had round fenders, but this one does not......I have never seen fenders like this.

I did locate a set of round fenders but they do not have the fender brackets. The brackets do not look too hard to make. Does anyone have any deminisions for the fender brackets?

Those look to be fenders off of another make GT. Maybe Gilson?

Make sure you are getting the correct round fenders for the 70 and not a set from an Original. The correct fenders will have a mount that attaches to each axle and a piece of angle about 8 inches long that will attach to the bolts at the rear end cover mount that the seat attaches too on either side.

The 4 WD was about a 2 year project of love/hate. I took a Cub 1806, removed the transmission, rear end, front end and replaced both with Case rear ends with each rear having it's own hydraulic motor with high and low range. On the back of the fly wheel is the 8-12 gpm hydraulic pump which runs the whole scha-bang. The articulation joint is made using part of a 6" beam with 2 front wheel bearing hubs off a car for both pivot and turning via a hydraulic cylinder through a orbital valve.

Back when I was in the middle of the project there was quite a discussion on the Case Forum about whether to plumb the hydraulics in series or parallel. After much input by those who had a lot more knowledge than I about hydraulics, I decided to go with series so I would have true 4WD. It works well and try as I have, I have never been able to stick the thing in the snow.

I had to build the cab since it has a 2 stage snow blower on the front. It was a real challange to build and I am not too anxious to start another one. I would be happy to attach some pics if anyone is interested.

Definitely not original fenders..
someone just cut and pasted some other fenders on..
really ugly IMO..
I would just dump them..they don't do the tractor justice..

I am going to scrap the "bat wing" fenders. I need to get some of the round fenders which are actually for this model. I will post some pics of the 4WD when I get a chance to take some. Probably start a new thread with them.

Thanks for your input. I just wanted to make sure this type fender was not a rare, very expensive limted edition which I was going to scrap. Guess not.

Those look like gravely rear fenders.

I would love to see some build pictures of the 4x4. Would also really like to see a video of it in action, just driving around, turning back and forth. Something to show how it articulates and handles uneven ground.
