While mowing today my front left wheel decided to depart from my 169. The axle broke right at the spindle. Part of the break is smooth and the other half is very rough. Almost like it had porosity but i dont believe the axle is a casting. I guess over the year it simply got fatigued and finnaly failed.

I guess I will be looking for a new spindle, I mostly use this one for mowing and I have a 108 I will be using for plowing and other none mowing type needs.

Any idea why this broke, i haven't hit anything recently but im sure through its life its hit plenty. Maybe a defective part that took a very long time to finnaly fail?
