Mechanical PTO Keeps Loosening
Hey guys,
Vince kindly sent me some pressure springs and the WF gauge for adjusting the PTO on my 129. Finally got around to installing them, but I'm having the same problem I had with the jam nuts that I had before - I can not get the rear jam nuts for the throwout lever screws to stay tight! After running it for a few minutes, one of them always backs out! What's a solution for this? I've had this happen to me several times now, and while I've become a pro at PTO work, I'm getting real tired of having to keep taking it back off there. I bought some nylock and full metal lock nuts, some lock washers, and I'm even prepared to use Loctite if I have to. Don't know if you've seen my post about the 129 earning its keep, but this is a daily driver for me and I have to have it for work. I'll be tearing into the PTO this morning (man, it's late now) so I'll check back here before I go do anything too crazy to get those levers to stay tight. Thanks Justin
