Hey guys!!! How's everyone doing tonight????
Well as you all know the Clutch Release Collar on the OL' Girl decided to lock up on me. I tore down the clutch and took some pics of the broken pieces that I found once I had the clutch disassembled. As of right now I still don't know what exactly happened. Like I stated in my other post, I always kept plenty of grease inside the Release Collar. But I guess it's just one of those things I guess.lol I'm getting ready to start ordering parts for the OL' Girl and should have her running within a few weeks,so we can get those plowing vids done. But anyway here are the pics. Maybe you guys can figure out what went wrong. Have a great night everyone!!! You can see where the Clutch Spring was really rubbing the heck out of it. ![]() Burnt up Clutch Release Collar. That Red color that you see is grease that was burnt off. ![]() Thrust Washer #1 in not so good shape. ![]() Thrust Washer #2 in a very bad shape. If you notice, this washer has more of a bowl shape than flat like Washer #1. ![]() Drive shaft is not looking to good. ![]() Drive Shaft washer pushed up against the small roll pin.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
