Cub Cadet 682

Just picked up a CC 682 Feb 1981 with a blown Engine for a $100.00. All the tin is in Great shape,good tires, and a very good 53 inch mower deck quick release system good hydrostatic transmission. Person said everything ran ok till engine blew up. And I do mean blew up! piston is in about 3 pieces and I still have to tear it apart but I think i will need a new engine for it. It's a kohler 17 hp engine KT17S. One on Ebay $ 1700.00. Hope to find a good used one in my area. If I cann't I may part it out. To recoupe my money. But the reason I got into all this is to save these machines. I DO YOU THE CUB BRAND. Would This mower deck work on a CC100 or CC122 if i change the sub frame? Will post pictures when i get a chance.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
