The circumference on the stock 23" tires was about 72". The circumference on the new tires is about 80". That means that the speed boost should be somewhat close to 10%. I don't have a speedometer. I didn't know that speedometers were available on Cub Cadets back in the 1960's.
Since the Cub uses 24" diameter rims and the same trans axle as the Cub Cadet, I was not concerned about going with 26" x 12" tires on 12" diameter rims from the perspective of mechanical stress. My actual increase in rear axle height is just a little more than an inch over stock, and since I don't have a mower deck for it, I'm not expecting a lot of problems. ...but time will tell. I would actually be interested in borrowing a set of Cub wheels to try on my little Cadet for a few minutes, just to see what it would be like. I am not sure if the Cub rims use the same bolt hole pattern as the Cadet, so I don't know if that swap would be easily accomplished or not.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
