Default Just say'n Hello

Hello everyone, figured I should stop in and say hi. Challenging times are upon us for sure, unlike anything I have ever seen in my lifetime. But as an upside, this quarantine time has enabled me to be a bit more social than usual.

My name is Tom and I am from North Eastern Massachusetts and have spent quite a bit of time on this earth. Let’s just say I’ve been fix’n my own stuff and everyone else's it seems since, well, since before the internet! I hope to be able to share some of my very limited knowledge (What could I possibly know) of IHCC machines due to the fact I only own about 13 of them! No series 1, 2 or 8's. I do have three old ‘sears’ (not craftsman) tractors, my Grandfathers 1950 something Economy Country Squire (learned to drive on that one) and also an old Case 580B CK, tlb to round out the 4 wheeled machines. Hopefully I can learn something too while I'm poking around here.

I'll try to not piss anyone off intentionally, but please realize I'm very blunt, honest and matter of fact. I truly mean no harm to your planet. I enjoy bringing back to life and ‘using’ old equipment/machinery. This is something I hope we share in common.

So, "Hello Everyone"

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
