Hi, I am new here. I bought a Cub Cadet a couple years ago from a guy that was leaving town, he sold it to me for $250.
This is an old, yellow colored, 1964 (I believe), Cub Cadet 100. This tractor is "not" restored, and I don't have necessary funds, or time to learn the skills to restore it. It does "not" run. It turns when I charged the battery but wont start. It has a mowing deck that came with it, however the front "clutch" assembly that moves the belt to the mower is open (disassembled) so I am assuming it is broken and needs to be re-built. So, if it starts it would be a tractor used for pulling more than anything else. The front hood cover is not original, it is not painted, so it's just plain metallic that seems to be made of aluminum. It also came with a front snow blower that I have never used or tested. I am in MN. Any idea how much this would sell for if i put it online on craigslist sold "as is"? What would be the lowest I should sell it for, and what's the highest i can ask for? Sorry, i don't have a photo at the moment. I attached a photo i found online, just imagine the front hood looking different (not original), with more rust / discolored front and engine area, and rusted front exhaust.. missing the grill, missing any front lights, and I dont think the seat is original. Thank you so much! |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
