Once you start, you can't stop
I just got a 129 and a #4 cart. The body is in good shape, and it seems to run pretty good.
The cart is in pretty good shape. It's not all bent or rotted. Just surface rust from sitting. The seller told me his father bought it in the late 80s.It was completely rebuilt by the dealer. They used it for weekly mowing up until about 5 years ago when they bought a newer tractor. Some observations and questions: 1. The pin that connects the driveshaft to the engine seems to be too short, maybe broken. I have to look at it closer. I could turn the driveshaft about a quarter turn before it spins the engine. 2. The throttle is really loose and doesn't seem to do anything until halfway. Is there an adjustment for this? 3. It does not hold a steady speed. The drive lever creeps back to neutral. I'm guessing the trunnion needs repair. 4. The seller said sometimes if if sits a little while after being run, you need to choke it to start it again. What could cause this? I'm sure I'll find more once I look it over better and run it more. PO mods: The brakes were disconnected, and someone made a lift stop. Now here are some pictures:
