Cyclops Help
Good afternoon,
I've found a 2082 available locally for what I think is a good price. Between my father-in-law and myself we have 9 IH GT's but this will be our first venture into the SGT line of tractors. I've been doing a lot of research the past few days in preparation to go look at this Cyclops. I read all of Sam's "Cyclops Repairs" threads and various other threads dealing with SGTs. I've certainly learned a lot through this research and have some idea of some common issues to look for on these tractors. I would love any additional input or advice from those more familiar if you have the time. Below is my "checklist" of things I'll be on the lookout for as these seem to the most common issues.......... 1. Loose/broken/stripped mounting bolts on the rear end. I plan on taking a 9/16" wrench with me to check these out. 2. Wiring Issues - not sure really what to look for here but understand the wiring on these can be tricky. 3. Condition of the Plastics - understand this can run up a high repair bill if they are in bad shape. 4. Front Axle - I've found posts mentioning potential issue with the front axles but not exactly sure what the common problems are here? I apologize for the length but I'm trying to be as thorough as I can since I don't have any experience with the SGT's. I appreciate any help that anyone may be able to provide. Thanks guys!
