1450 Hydro problem
So my 1450 started making a rattling noise at high speed sometime last year. Sounded like a possible transmission issue. Changed the Hytran fluid with no improvement. I've been taking it slow ever since.
Last week the hydro abruptly quit while mowing. No forward or reverse. Deck will not go up or down. The hydro shaft is spinning, but it seems like there's no pump pressure, like maybe the pin in the charge pump broke? I took the filter off to examine it. Everything looked clean. After I put the filter back on I found 2 small metal pieces in my catch pan that I assume must have been in the filter. Two pin or piston shaped pieces maybe about 1/2" Iong and 1/4" in diameter. They were not broken, but they were chewed up a little. I promptly lost them because that's just the kind of day it was. Do I need to be looking to do a whole rebuild on the hydro? Or just get the charge pump cover off and check that next? Any guesses on what those pieces are? I'm having trouble finding them on the diagrams. Thanks!
