982 Rear PTO Switches?

My recently acquired 982 (986) has rear PTO, with a switch on the dash tower (to the right of the ignition switch), plus a switch on the tunnel cover. Both are wired into the harness; the one on the dash does not seem to do anything (it is supposed to be a directional switch). I have not traced the wiring in detail to figure out what is going on - anyone ever see an installation like this, or a decal like the one on the tunnel cover (pictured)?
