A rusty old 102 followed me home
I found this on Craigslist, and I went to pick it up today. The po got it running while I was there, so I know that the engine sounds good and doesn't smoke. It didn't want to stay running, but that's okay.
A kinda funny thing happened during the sale; I was standing beside the Cub, and talking with the po, when the coil blew up right in front of me! The coil shot a jet of oil straight up toward the carburetor, and it got splashed onto the battery as well. Luckily, no oil got on me, or the owner. As it turned out; the key was left on, and a battery charger, turned on "high" was clamped to the battery. After that, I was determined to get the Cub home and teach it some manners. I picked up a new battery to start with, and I'll get a coil tomorrow. This will soon be followed by 4 new tires, a carb rebuild, lube etc. just to start with. I'll show this 102 who's boss!
