Well, I aimed to put this up a while ago, but I couldn't get pics to load..... and I've been busy. Took vaca to clean out my shop building..... and I haven't worked this hard in over a year. My desk job has made me a weenie!
Anyway, I recently got a good deal on a creepy gear on E-Bay (Thanks Rescue11!!) and when it came in the mail, I was shocked to see that it was cleaned up, lubed and ready to install! I pulled the 1050 in the garage and went to town. Obviously, don't need the creeper to plow, but it does make tilling with it possible. I have to say, I'd been doing both with a hydro, and wanted to go to gear drive for garden work because of the speed consistency. Yeah.... it was much better this way. I will say, however, that I can't get a new motor in this unit soon enough. That 2B tiller was a bit too much for the tired 10hp in that tractor. I burned a pint of oil just plowing and disking! SMOKING ol' girl. I had the garden chisel plowed last fall, in the vid you can see me bouncing around. It was chiseled perpendicular to how I farm the garden.... because the 20' chisel fit better that way, lol. Next time, I'll disk it afterword. I will say, that it plowed much better this year. I was hitting the hard pan. Not now! The garden drains water much better, and it plowed up nice! I'll probably start a 2016 garden thread, but here's some pics and a video to enjoy! p2.jpgp1.jpgp3.jpgp6.jpg And here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjoprqwTkrI |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
