This really iterates my point, thanks Todd. The Deere 400 was the one with the oddball rear PTO speed (made from '75-'83). Then came the 420/30's. ('83 to '91). So other than the CC's that still offered the 2K reverse rotation, the 2K PTO were almost all gone by the 90's. I know Yanmar, Kubota and Mitsubishi (Mitsubishi made the IH compacts, and sub compacts) went to 540's in the 80's. I know not all those made GT's, but the sub compacts are the closest comparison to the SGT. I don't think that the they mean the tiller is reversable. I took it to mean that you could order one that way. I'd be interested to know what the premium would be on that "special order".... ![]() Biggest reason I'm interested is for the Lo-Boy. Finding the rear 3pt tiller for them is about as hard as finding the 2K 3pt tiller for a SGT. The LB's PTO was a reverse rotation 2K RPM (actually I think it was 2200, but that's close enough.) |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
