Front Oil Seal
I bought Cub Cadet 1862 with 925 hrs. It was being sold because it had a leaking front oil seal.
The specs are: Tractor- Model 141681100; Serial # 815934 Engine-Model M18S; Spec. 24246; Serial # 2017319496 My questions are: Is this a chronic problem with these type engines? I have had similar engines and did not have any problems Are there any tricks to replacing the seal? What would cause this to happen? I noted someone said it was a faulty breather causing pressure to build inside the crank case. If I disassemble the breather and clean it, how do I check it for proper operation? Don't mind replacing the seal, but would prefer not to have to do it again too soon. I believe the part number for a replacement seal is KH-52-032-10-S. Is there a better aftermarket seal or should I stick with this one? I appreciate all of the good advice and directions I have received from OCC.
