That gearbox is from a QA36/42A , it has 4 mounting holes. The correct plate for that gearbox should have the mounting holes for the box slotted for side to side adjustment. The plates are different between the QA36/42A and the QA36/42. Take a look at one of the online parts suppliers like partstree at the two different blower mounting systems, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
