Hey all!
I haven't been here in a while, but the 1641's been running pretty good. had it stored for a little over a month. I put the snow plow on it Monday, and we had our first little snow, here in Northern Ohio overnight. I cleared my driveway, the neighbor's and my sisters. Toward the end it started hiccuping, and sputtering, and I would just adjust the throttle a bit. I started it back up this morning, and it was much worse. I had two spark plugs, and mine looked pretty bad, so changed them. It seemed a little better. Couldn't figure it out. I know my choke cable is broken, but it's never been a huge problem. Just have to open the top and push it back in. Well, the cable is seized completely, and the choke was partially open. I pushed it back in all the way, and she was running good. I thought all was well. A couple minutes later, hiccuping again. Then I went to look at the carb. when i pulled the air filter off, it pretty much cleared up. I put it back on, searching, sputtering etc... so I took the air filter off, and cleaned the driveway. Runs like a champ. She just need some air! Now, to the store this evening for the new filter...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
