I bought a 123 with a front plow from a junkyard nearby recently. Best $90 I've every spent. It looks like it's in really good shape too. Probably the best cub I have (once I get it running)!
The main problem I'm facing now is that a forklift was used to move it around the scrapyard. The hydro line was severely bent. The hydro filter has damage as well, but was not punctured. I've already got a new filter to put on. My local Napa is having their spring sale, got it for $5.40. The suction tube is not original. It has about 5" of steel/aluminum tubing that comes down from the pump, with about 18" of rubber tubing connecting up to the rear axle. It doesn't wrap up on top of the hydro pump like the stock line does. See the attached picture (sorry for the blurriness). Yesterday I was trying to undo one of the kinks in the metal tubing and the tube sprung a leak. Precious hy-tran started leaking out all over the ground. I put a pot underneath to hopefully reuse for flushing out a gear drive. So, now to my question: What are my options to replace this? --Will a hydro line from later narrow frames work? --Will a hydro line from a wide frame work? (I noticed a few on ebay) --Napa said they can put some ends on a flexible hydraulic line for me (like what you see on large equipment). Not sure how much they would charge though. --A new suction line can be ordered through cubcadet.com, but it's short and ~$77. I've also seen a few 'cub cadet hydro guards' on ebay. It says it will fit a narrow frame. I don't know how they fit because I can't find a picture of one on a tractor. I can only find pictures on them taken off. I've attached a picture of what I mean. Would this help protect the suction line in the future? I'd appreciate any advice. Especially on what other cub cadet hydro lines will fit. Thanks, Russell

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
