Rockshaft Brace........
Yesterday, after I fabbed up a rockshaft brace for the 2182 there were requests for pictures.
I made the brace because I was aware of the possibility of shearing the arm off when using a front blade and hitting something solid. Because I used material on hand, the brace is a lot heavier than necessary. I heated the brace and bent the offset to fit between the two rockshaft arms. Then I drilled holes in the brace including a 3rd hole to bolt the brace to the inner rockshaft arm. To use this third hole, I had to also drill a hole in the inner arm. I had to do this because my brace is too thick to use a hitch pin on the inner arm peg. I actually think by bolting the brace to both arms it's a lot stronger. What's your opinion? I hope the pictures better explain why the third hole was necessary. This is not the finished product. I'll refine it and paint it so it looks pretty for visitors!
